This is related to the last post, but as these food quirks are specific to me....I did not want to include them into a general pet peeve category.
Here is my random list.
Little Debbie Nutty Bars:
Peel & eat these in layers only....never crunch into all layers at once.
Cereal
Soggy cereal = involuntary gagging. So....milk first, then only enough cereal to just cover milk surface. Quickly eat crunchy cereal layer. Repeat.
Skittles & Mentos
Suck on them for a few minutes until they are soft, then chew.
Runts
Always pink, red, green, & blue. Orange on occasion....depends on my mood. Yellow banana kind = terrible & should always be tossed.
M&M's or any multi-colored candy
Always eat so that an equal number of each color remain.

Peanut M&M's
Outside candy shell & chocolate. Inspect peanut. If peanut passes "peanut quality test"....then eat. Most times, they do not pass this test.
Reeces Pieces
Suck on them till they dissolve in your mouth.....so delicious.
Skor Bars, Butterfingers & Heath Bars
Animal Crackers
Feet & head first, then bodyPop Tarts
Outside edges before the center.
Oreos
Separate, eat plain half first...like a cookie, then dunk 2nd half in milk & eat in one bite.
Reece's Peanut Butter Cups
Outside Edges first, glorious peanut butter center last.
Chex Mix (store bought kind)
Buffalo Wings
Corn on the Cob
Must be eaten typewriter style. Bite, bite, bite, bite, bite, bite, CHING!...... zzzzzzzz .....rotate cob forward & repeat.
Take off bottom half of cupcake & place on top so that the frosting is in the middle of both layers. Eat small hand held layer cake so you don't get frosting all over your face....I credit this to Peter & his family.
Cashews
Only the pieces & halves b/c they have more surface area for salty sprinklage. Whole cashews can never achieve this level salty delight.
Grandma Feyen's Rolls
Open faced with lots of honey. I feel open-faced allows for a perfect honey to roll ratio.

Thanksgiving Dinner
Mix corn, turkey, gravy, & potatoes together in one massive & delectable mound.Hard Boiled Eggs
Whites only. Yellow part = barf.B.L.T.
Skip the lettuce, tomato, & mayo ....also leave out toast ....mmmm ....bacon.
Beef Jerky
Must consume entire bag in one sitting....oh wait,.....not quirky, just gluttonous & maybe a little gross....sorry.
I know I am weird, but I also know that I am not alone with random food eating quirks....so don't judge too quickly!

I love your "food eating quirks"! I have to say though that I love the banana runts the best. The cupcake idea is a great one! My mom used to bake cake for our school lunches, she would cut the cake in half and have the frosting in the middle so it would not all stick to the plastic wrap. I totally agree with the roll to honey ratio!
Too funny - Jeff eats cupcakes the exact same way. I have never heard of or seen anyone else do that. I take off the bottom half too, but I eat it separately to get it out of the way, then I am left with a half that has all the frosting. That's the best part!
We are very much alike in the way we eat. I do the exact same thing with Nutty Bars, cereal, Runts, M&M's, Peanut Butter Cups, Oreos, Pop Tarts, Chex Mix, Corn on the Cob, and Cashews! I thought I was alone in this quirky eating behavior! I hope you, Peter and the girls are doing well!
I disagree with this cupcake eating heresy.
my thing with reese's pieces is to hold them in my hand until they soften up enough that they instantly melt in my mouth, and they have to be eaten one by one that way. i also love your cupcake trick, i will definately be trying that with the next one i eat.
