DIY Jewelry Box On My Wall

My jewelry has been haphazardly thrown into drawers and boxes for the past 15 years. I have lost more jewelry that I am willing to admit due to my terrible storage methods. I know, if you can believe it.....OCD ataxophobic Rachel was pathetically unorganized.

Thanks to my new Pinterest obsession, I have been gathering all sorts of great DIY ideas to organize my jewelry. So this is how it started.

Found some scrap wood in the garage.
My brother constructed a square frame for me. We traded.
I cut my nephew's hair. He made a frame for me....in 15 minutes.
I also had him drill some holes so I could attach the knobs.

Go to the side garden and steal some rabbit fencing.

Buy some door knobs at Lowe's for $1 each

I painted the frame gray.
I added the wire fence in the middle.
Then added the knobs and a few hooks.
And Voilà! I am very proud.

Wood: free
Rabbit Fencing: free
Carpenter Labor: free
Hardware: $13
Paint: $3
Total Cost: $16

Looks simply fantastic. I have so much darn jewelry I am really running out of places to put it. And this is a real space saver. Kudos! Now I finally have spots to put all my sweet Ispirada pieces! So thanks again and keep up the good work :)

What if you put some cork behind the rabbit fencing so you could stick the post type earrings into it?

Keep your jewelry in a relatively air-tight container, and minimize its exposure to humidity. To ensure it is protected, keep your jewelry in a drawstring bag or a jewelry box that is closed.
